Post Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans quickly rebounded as a hub to tap local talent as more film/tv productions flooded into the state encouraged by generous tax incentives. Ms. Monet recognized a fast-growing pool of local businesses, and talent that could be served through coaching, production, editing, and video audition taping services. When business came to a complete halt during the first 6 months of the pandemic, VOICEISHEAR podcast and cultural/educational tours launched with two initiatives; safely celebrate & reconnect community via quality conversation and keep youth inspired to learn despite the uncertainty of the world.

 

The podcast explores and emphasizes the cultural uniqueness of New Orleans by highlighting local small businesses, culture bearers, and integral community movers and shakers. Whether utilizing her global reach via podcast or guided virtual tour, Ms. Monet thoughtfully curates the audience experience in an highly entertaining manner while promoting local small businesses, organizations, and institutions most directly impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns. Strongly committed to, and deeply rooted in community, she feels  these are the locals that would best benefit from the additional international exposure as the city reopens to tourism.
